CELEBRATING EMMA GODWIN'S SUCCESS AT THE WORLD AQUATIC CHAMPIONSHIPS (25M)Emma Godwin from Sundevils has just finished competing in Budapest at the World Aquatic Short Course Championships, as part of the NZ Team. Emma was 20th in the 200 Backstroke, swimming 2.06.96 - a fantastic swim - and was also part of the NZ 4x50 Freestyle Mixed relay team. We congratulate her on her performances. She has been a huge role model to many and a true inspiration. Thanks for making the region proud. Congratulations also to coach Willy Benson also on the NZ team for his selection, and for coaching Emma to this level.  |
LOOKING BACK AT A SUCCESSFUL REGIONAL LONG COURSE CHAMPIONSHIPS IN GISBORNEWhat a wonderful weekend of racing at Kiwa in Gisborne at our annual long course regional championships. The weekend was full of team spirit and competition as 209 athletes, which included 33 visitors from outside of region battled for PB's and medals, ribbons and regional titles. It was a great way to finish off competition in 2024, as we look forward to next year - which has been confirmed to be held again in Gisborne. HUGE THANK YOU TO THE NUMEROUS VOLUNTEERS AND OFFICIALS WHO MADE THIS CHAMPIONSHIP A SUCCESS  |

SNZ OPEN WATER CHAMPIONSHIPS AND EPIC SWIMMake sure you get those entries in for these. Open water swimming is a fantastic part of our sport and develops so many lifelong skills. The SNZ Open Water Championships (11th-12th January 2025) is the national open water championships being held in Taupo.in January. More information is available here. The Epic Swim is being held alongside this and is a great opportunity for those swimmers wanting to give open water swimming a go, and/or race alongside the top swimmers.
