EVENT PREVIEW - SUMMER CHAMPSWe cannot wait for our next regional championships being held at Kiwa Pools in Gisborne - 28th - 30th November 2025. It is super exciting to be running our long course regional championships in this pool for the second year running. The flyer will be out next week - make sure you commit to this and get entries in. It's a fabulous way to round out the year, racing in a great facility, and getting that valuable long course racing in. It's open to all competitive swimmers across all age groups, More details SOON. Now is the time to step up for our swimmers and clubs! Volunteers are the absolute mainstay of our sport. Do you want to:: - Start Your Technical Officiating Journey (become a new official); or
- Gain Additional Technical Accreditations (move up the Technical Pathway); or
- Express Interest in Learning the Computer/Quantum Timing Systems (Control Room)

GREENDALE, SUNDEVILS AND AQUAHAWKS JOIN TOGETHER FOR JUNIOR CLINIC It was great to see these three clubs join together to offer a fantastic opportunity for their juniors to learn and practice some skills in a different environment - with other coaches and young swimmers from other clubs. Lots of fun and learning was had at this event held in late July 2025. Well done to coaches and swimmers involved.  |  |

SWIMMERS EXCEL FOR THEIR SCHOOLS AT NZSSIt was awesome to see so many fantastic results from the regions swimmers at the NZ Secondary School Championships held in July. A total of 19 individual medals and 3 relay medals from swimmers across the region. Well done to everyone.  |
 | VOICE OF THE PARTICIPATION SURVEY Thank you to all of our members who completed the SNZ Voice of the Participant survey. The results are in it was pleasing to see the region and our clubs score better than the rest of the country when measured across key metrics. There is still a recognition that improvements can be made and the Board looks forward to working together to achieve this.  |

THANK YOU DONNA At the HBPB Winter Short Course Championships we farewelled Donna Blair (Comet) as she moves out of the region. Donna has contributed to HBPB Swimming for many years, as both a Board member and a very active Referee. Donna also served on the HBPB Technical Committee for many years. We also thank Donna's husband Tony who has provided much expertise with the new timing system in Gisborne, and contributed so much behind the scenes. We wish them all the best with their move to BOP.  |  |
