The region is proud to have so many volunteers, who over many years, have contributed greatly to the sport of swimming.
Some of these special people are acknowledged through HBPB Awards - Service with Honours, Service and Official.
that contribute at a very high level are awarded Life Membership of the organisation.

JACQUI MARGERISON (SUNDEVILS) - SERVICE HONOURS AWARD
Jacqui’s contribution to the region has been immense. When first involved with swimming she contributed greatly at a club level with Greendale for many years. Jacqui has also been a very active Official (JOS, IOT), officiating since 2017. Jacqui has been a hugely contributing Board member for 6 years, 2 years of which she was Board Chair. As Chair she represented the region on SNZ Regional Chair meetings and contributed to regional forums both face to face and online. Across 2023 and 2024, Jacqui was a representative on the SNZ Governance Review Working Group, giving her time to this completely voluntarily. She has provided strong strategic governance and leadership input to the region and is respected for the commitment she has given to her various roles.
ERIN JENKINS (CHB) - SERVICE HONOURS AWARD
A past recipient of a HBPB Swimming Official Award, Erin is one of our more active contributors. A very active Referee, officiating whenever required, Erin also officiates at a national level having done so at NZ Age Group Championships (2024 and 2025), NZ Championships (2024), NZ Masters (2024) and Aquaknights Junior Festival (2025). She has travelled away at her own cost to some of these events. She is Chair of the HBPB Swimming Technical Committee and is also an Aquaknights representative on the SNZ Technical Advisory Committee. During her time as Chair of the HBPB Technical Committee she has started successful engagement with coaches and club chairs and is always looking at ways in which to encourage participation. Erin is currently the Chair of the CHB Swim Club – a role that she has held since 2018) and plays an important regional role, not only as Chair of the club but in her input at HBPB Board and Admin meetings. Erin is incredibly well respected in the swimming community. Erin has just recently been appointed as a Swimming NZ Technical Assessor which is a considerable achievement, and of real service to both the region and the national body.
ANNA DULY (SUNDEVILS) - SERVICE AWARD
A past recipient of a HBPB Swimming Official Award, Anna is a very active Referee, within the region, and is also a member of the HBPB Technical Committee. Anna has also officiated at national meets held in the region. Anna is a great team leader to the technical team – is confident and a pleasure to work with - and supports the region in many ways. Her contribution and service to the region has been consistent for many years.

These are all very active poolside Technical Officials, who continually volunteer into these much needed roles. The region recognises all these people as active volunteers and officials - who by doing what they do hugely support the clubs and swimmers of our region.
