SWIMMER MEMBERSHIPS

There are four main types of swimmer memberships:

1. Competitive Swimmer (12 yrs and under) – Able to compete at all competitions - club nites, club championships, inter-club meets, regional championships, national meets and international meets.
2. Competitive Swimmer (13 yrs and over) – Able to compete at all competitions - club nites, club championships, inter-club meets, regional championships, national meets and international meets
3. Recreational Swimmer – Able to compete at club nites,and club championships where only their own club is involved.
   
4. Learn to Swim Swimmer – Able to compete at club nites,and club championships where only their own club is involved.
   

The intent is that there is a competitive pathway whereby once a swimmer transitions from racing within the club (club nites etc.) to racing in interclub meets that swimmers will become o competitive swimmer. The LTS membership is intended for those who are learning to swim.

Swimming New Zealand also provides a High School Swimmer Membership category, which is available to those wanting to swim at school championships, such as the NZ Secondary School Championships.​​​​​​​
